According to foreign media reports, Bernardo, a former employee of TSMC's US factory, has been accused of being rehired by TSMC for her involvement in assisting in a class action lawsuit against TSMC. She also accuses TSMC of having a malicious work environment that favors East Asian employees.

According to reports, Bernardo claimed that TSMC first demoted her from a human resources position and eventually fired her, citing that she provided the necessary information for a class action lawsuit to lawyers and violated confidentiality regulations. Bernardo claimed that she was bullied and ridiculed during her work, and even though she complained to the company's senior management, the issue was not taken seriously. An internal investigation also found that the allegations were unfounded and left unresolved.
Bernardo recounted her experience at TSMC. She joined the company in 2021 and was initially led by a supervisor with no human resources experience, who had a bad attitude towards her and often scolded her. Later, she was transferred to another team, and the new supervisor only communicated in Chinese, requiring colleagues to translate. Bernardo also accused her colleagues of sending her mistakes to everyone via email, and her supervisor did not provide training or guidance, issuing warning letters whenever she made a mistake. At the end of 2024, her supervisor warned her that if she didn't improve, she would be fired.
Bernardo believes that he has been expelled from TSMC Telegram and has filed a lawsuit. TSMC has told American media that it will not make public comments on the lawsuit. TSMC said it is "proud" of the team at its Arizona factory, which complies with all labor regulations and is committed to providing a safe, friendly, and inclusive workplace.
It is worth noting that Taiwanese media reported in July this year that TSMC is facing a growing class action lawsuit in the United States. This lawsuit was initially initiated by 13 people, and by July 2025, the number of plaintiffs had increased to 17, with over 160 pages of documents accusing of discrimination, workplace retaliation, and lack of work safety.
