According to South Korean media reports, around 10am local time on the 24th, a fire broke out in a research building at Samsung Electronics' Hwaseong factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Samsung Electronics' internal fire brigade took the lead in implementing safety measures and extinguished the fire together with the fire department at 10:23am without causing any casualties.

It is reported that the fire may have been caused by the carbonization of a pump in the factory. Samsung Electronics stated, "Production has not been interrupted and there have been no casualties

According to public information, Samsung's Huacheng factory is an important semiconductor manufacturing base for Samsung Electronics in South Korea, mainly responsible for producing DRAM chips and NAND Flash memory chips.

It is worth noting that global storage chips are currently experiencing the most significant price increase cycle in recent years. Since September this year, the cumulative increase in related spot prices has exceeded 300%.

Several leaders of consumer electronics companies and experts in the storage industry have pointed out that this trend will further drive up the prices of major consumer electronics products such as smartphones and computers by 2026.
