ASML stated: China remains the world's largest chip market!

Peter Wennink, executive officer of ASML, the world's largest chip micro imaging device leader, said on the 26th that it was natural for Chinese Mainland to turn to developing its own semiconductor devices under the restriction of Europe, the United States and other countries on chip procurement in the mainland. But China remains the world's largest computer chip market, which makes it absolutely necessary for ASML to continue to gain access to the Chinese market.

Winpeter pointed out that in recent years, due to the stagnation of the supply chain of the COVID-19 epidemic, the chip industry experienced a shortage for many years. Now, due to the continuous decline of global consumer electronics shipments, the technology industry has entered the dilemma of semiconductor oversupply again.

Wen Peter believes that a large amount of chip subsidies in Europe and America will exacerbate industry volatility.

In addition, Winpeter also mentioned that Chinese Mainland is the third largest market of ASML after Taiwan, China and South Korea. He quoted a mainland automaker as saying that the automaker plans to manufacture a large number of electric vehicles in the next three years, requiring six or seven mature logic semiconductor factories to supply, but mainland chip factories are still under construction.

Winpeter therefore stressed that the exchanges between ASML and the Chinese Mainland market are very important for both ASML and customers in the Chinese market.

ASML announced strong first quarter results last week and said that its sales to Chinese Mainland would continue to increase.

ASML pointed out that the demand for electric vehicles and mature chips in the Chinese market has increased this year, and it is expected that the demand for purchasing equipment will become stronger. In the latest financial report, Chinese companies accounted for 22% of ASML's first quarter revenue, while mainland buyers accounted for about 30% of ASML's mature chip manufacturing equipment orders, an increase of about 10% compared to the end of last year.
